Worked as senior Researcher, Trainer and Developer of new and innovative tools and techniques for evidence-based clinical practices for a Southern California based Therapy center for six years. Job included conducting clinical assessments, provided specialized outpatient services (e.g., feeding, severe problem behaviors), hiring and staff management between Southern and Northern California branches. Also provided distance consultation for children with developmental disabilities.
Acquired BCBA in 2011 and earned doctorate in Applied Behavior Analysis from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles in 2013. Completed Bachelor’s in Psychology degree from University of California - Riverside in 2007
Served on the executive council for the Association of Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) for 3 years and currently an active member of CalABA. Dr. Aclan has presented at various conferences and speaking engagements at the regional, national and international levels
Dr. Aclan served as faculty at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles and California State University, Northridge. Currently, She serves as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Southern California.
Her career experience focused at both the individual and business levels. At the individual level she has worked in the fields of developmental disabilities and typically developing, with expertise in the following areas: skill acquisition (e.g., learning independent living skills, social skills, communication, etc.), challenging behaviors in the home, community and school (e.g., tantrum, aggression, vocal protest, attending, etc.), time management, self-monitoring, and problem solving
At the business level, Dr. Aclan has worked with businesses in the development and implementation of performance development tools, assessment and establishment needs of the company to increase productivity and create health work/life balance for all employees, identify and establish clear systems within the company to ensure cohesive interaction between departments, as well as, identify and create clear policies and procedures to ensure appropriate process will flow within the company.
